Come in? Anyone there?

Friday 31 January 2020

A burglar has broken in to the building site on the Weighbridge and stolen some Walkie Talkies.

Weighbridge House on the Lower Pollet is currently being totally renovated, but sometime between 16:30 on Wednesday 29 January and 07:30 the next morning, someone managed to get inside.

Things were moved around on the site and a pair of Walkie Talkie's with their charging cable were taken.

Red fire

Pictured: Nearly all of the block of buildings at the Weighbridge are currently having work done, following a fire in Red Grillhouse.

Later that afternoon, a member of the public found a Walkie Talkie around Salarie Corner that had been left there, and is believed to have been one of those stolen.

Police are now looking for witnesses who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in or around the site on the evening, as well as anyone acting in a similar manner in the area of Salarie Car Park.

Any information can be given to PC 113 Chad Sweet at the Police Headquarters on 725111 or by emailing Chad.Sweet@guernsey.pnn.police.uk. If someone wants to give information anonymously, they can through Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.

Weighbridge House is where the White Hart, Barbados nightclub, Morrisons and Miss Nob clothes shop used to be, but is currently being totally renovated. Next door is the building occupied by Red, Rosso and Tinto which is also being renovated following a recent fire.
