Colour fun run returns

Sunday 12 March 2023

A fundraising colour fun run is back this year, for the first time since before-covid, with hundreds of people expected to take part.

Around 200 runners have already registered for the event in May which will take place around Specsavers grounds at La Villiaze.

The run is open to all ages and abilities, with different lengths of between 1km and 5km. Participants will all be showered with multi coloured powder as they make their way around while raising money for Grow Ltd, the Guernsey Blind Association and Guernsey Cancer Support.

Specsavers Director of Group Services, Nick James, says they are hoping to raise thousands of pounds for the charities.

"After the success of our last Colour Fun Run, when we raised £5,000 for charity, we really wanted to hold the event again. It’s an event which brings everyone together, helps you stay active and involves throwing a lot of coloured powder at each other.

"We’re all looking forward to taking part, getting colourful and raising funds for such good causes."

The event will start at 11:00 on Sunday 21 May with registration from 10:00 then a warm up and group colour throw before the run starts.

It will cost £15 per adult and £10 for children to take part with tickets available from eventbrite. Extra powder will be available to buy on the day too.
