Chippy reopens as police investigate smashed windows

Monday 18 November 2024

Northside Chip Shop is reopening from lunchtime today, just over 24 hours after all of the windows to the front of the building were smashed.

The fish and chip shop had only reopened three days before that after being closed for a few months while the new owners bought the business.

The new owners woke up on Sunday to find the windows all broken, pledging "nothing is going to keep us down".

Guernsey Police believe the windows were smashed at around ten past midnight, Sunday morning.

They've said there was "significant damage" caused to the windows along the front of the chippy, which is at Bridge End House, North Side, Vale.

Anyone with information, or any relevant dash camera footage from a passing vehicle, is asked to contact Guernsey Police on 222 222 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting OC24*8441.
