CD and Record Fair returns to Peninsula

The Vale Earth Fair Collective will be raising funds for next year’s festival with its annual Record and CD Fair this month, and are looking for donations from the public to sell at the event.

Following the success of this year’s VEF, one of the only festivals able to take place in Europe this year, organisers are beginning to think about how 2021 can build on their growing reputation.

“A lot will depend on what happens with Covid,” said one of the organisers Rob Roussel. “But we hope that we will be able to bring some live acts to the island. If that isn’t possible, then we still have a wealth of talent here, as proved at this year’s festival.”

There will be a wide selection of music on sale, from classical, to country, to drum & bass. Memorabilia will be available alongside CDs and vinyl, and guests will be treated to live music, snacks and refreshments.

The collective are appealing for donations of anything music related to sell at the fair. Anyone who has something they would be willing to donate is asked to contact Mr Roussel on 07781 107698 to arrange collection if necessary.

There is also room for a few stalls if people would like to sell records and CDs for themselves. A number of people have already signed up, but there is still room available. Stallholders are charged £10 for a table, and an additional £5 for an extra table if one is required.

The Record and CD Fair will take place in the function room of the Peninsula Hotel on 22 November, from 12:00-16:00. Buyers will be charged £3 between 12-1 and £2 afterwards for admission, with all money raised going towards the 2021 Vale Earth Fair.
