The man who tried to fake his own death off Guernsey after murdering his wife, is still waiting to hear if he'll be released from his life long prison sentence after being involved in Britain's first public parole hearing.
Russell Causley killed his wife in 1985.
He has never said what he did with Carole Packman's body. During the parole hearing, he claimed he had burnt her body in the garden and scattered her ashes in nearby hedges. However it was pointed out that he has repeatedly changed his story over the years since Ms Packman's disappearance.
Her daughter told reporters after the parole hearing that she still does not know what happened to her mother and she wants her father to remain behind bars for the rest of his life.
Causley, now 79, has admitted killing his wife so he could run off with his mistress. He tried to fake his own death using a boat off the coast of Guernsey, as part of an insurance scam to fund his new life.

He was jailed for the fraud in 1995, at which time Dorset Police reopened the investigation into Ms Packman's disappearance.
Causley was subsequently charged with her murder and was convicted and jailed for life, with a minimum term of 16 years, in 1996.
He successfully appealed his conviction in 2003, before being found guilty at a retrial in 2004.
Causley was released on parole in 2020 but was returned to prison last year after he did not return to his approved accommodation one night.
He claimed at yesterday's live parole hearing that he was assaulted and slept on a beach as he was injured.
The live parole hearing was the first of its kind in the British Isles. It was due to be held earlier this year but was postponed until yesterday. Causley's voice could be heard during the live stream but he was not shown visually.
He will receive the decision of the parole board at a later date.
