‘Blossoming Bumps’ initiative will help prepare people for parenthood

Sunday 06 June 2021

Bright Beginnings is launching a new Ante-Natal Information Evening for expectant parents.

‘Blossoming Bumps’ will be hosted at the Bright Beginnings Children Centre every two months, with the first event being held on Tuesday 29 June.

Bright Beginnings programme leaders and other providers will be available to talk with parents-to-be about the range of services on offer.

“The Centre is a hub for new parents, a place of community and support, but lots of expectant parents are unaware of what we do," said Family Support Worker Faye Priaulx.

“It’s important to us that people understand what services they can access before giving birth so that they feel supported straight away upon entering parenthood.

"Blossoming Bumps is all about bringing people together, connecting and preparing them for the exciting and special journey that they’re about to embark on."

The evening is suitable for expectant parents who are approximately 20 weeks or more into their pregnancy and will showcase services from Bright Beginnings, Guernsey Sling Library, Speech & Language, Guernsey Therapy Group and more.

The first Blossoming Bumps takes place between 17:30 -19:30 on Tuesday 29 June. The remaining information evenings this year will be hosted on 11 August, 13 October and 8 December.
