Dutch and Swiss tourists, alongside island residents, will now have the opportunity for direct access to the Channel Islands this summer, as Blue Islands is operating summer routes to the countries.

The airline has also been chosen as the preferred airline partner by two tour operators for seasonal charter activity.

“Blue Islands is thrilled to be selected to partner with two leading tour operators and welcome thousands of visitors to discover our stunning Channel Islands this summer," Tom Barrasin, Blue Islands CCO, said.

Sunair Vakanties has chartered services from Rotterdam to Guernsey and Jersey every Saturday between 21 April and 15 September, using Blue Islands 68-seat ATR 72. While Rolf Meier Reisen has chartered weekly Saturday services from Zurich to the islands between 5 May until 8 September, using the airline's 48-seat ATR 42 aircraft.

Mr Barrasin added: “As a Channel Islands airline, with a locally based fleet of ATR 42 and ATR 72 aircraft we have the ability to operate high capacity flights over long distances.

"These inbound summer charters direct from Europe form a vital part of the visitor economy, opening up our islands to thousands of potential visitors, who will help spread the word to their friends and family of how fantastic a holiday destination we are.”
