The road outside Frossard House was partially blocked by a bus after a suspected crash earlier on Wednesday afternoon.
Police were directing traffic as rush hour hit, but they also advised motorists to avoid the area if possible.
The bus was the number 92 returning to St Peter Port.
It was seen to have cosmetic damage to its front right side, with a tyre on that same side deflated.
“We are working quickly to deal with the incident and get traffic flowing as normal,” Bailiwick Law Enforcement said in a statement on Facebook.
