Aurigny releases lifeline summer schedule, with more to come

Monday 04 November 2024

Guernsey's States owned airline, has announced it is now taking bookings on its key routes next summer with the rest of the schedules also due to be released soon.

Aurigny is taking a phased approach to releasing its 2025 summer schedule, prioritising essential connections between Guernsey and Alderney, and between Guernsey and London Gatwick, London City, and Southampton.

Alderney to Southampton flights are also available to book now for next summer.

Aurigny says the early release allows residents and visitors to plan their 2025 travel in advance, while the States owned airline continues finalising the rest of its network to “ensure maximum operational resilience”.

Chief Commercial Officer at Aurigny, Sudeep Ghai said all routes, including European destinations, will be available for booking by mid-November.

“We know islanders are eager to start making their key summer plans, so we’re pleased to release our lifeline schedule," he said.

“This phased approach allows our team a little extra time to work through the wider schedule to ensure adequate network resilience, as it’s important to us that our customers can book and travel with confidence.”

Hannah Beacom, the Chair of the Tourism Management Board, welcomed the phased approach.

“I am very pleased that visitors looking to come to our islands will now be able to book their travel for next year.

“Being able to book in advance is key to capturing potential travellers. I look forward to the remaining destinations going online as soon as possible to help broaden this to the Bailiwick’s European audience.”

A review by PA Consultancy on Aurigny's disruption this year has concluded, with the authors offering their advice for turning around the turbulence. They've also supported the decision to switch the a fleet exclusively comprised of ATR's. You can read all about the review HERE
