Candie concerts continue and the Greenhouse Gallery lines up a 'meet the artist' event. If you think there's a dearth of creativity in Guernsey, you're wrong.

The sun rises on the Victor Hugo in Guernsey Weekend

The full Line Up for the Victor Hugo in Guernsey society has been revealed!

Join the Victor Hugo in Guernsey society as they take a deep dive into Victor Hugo’s life… as a campaigner. With prominent lecturers and speakers visiting the island from France, the UK and the USA.

On the 24 June, celebrate the culture of Guernsey French over a 3 Course Supper Guernesais. 

The evening will explore Guernsey French in words and music with James Dumbleton and Hazel Tomlinson. Discover the language’s connections to Victor Hugo, whilst enjoying a sumptuous supper featuring ttraditional local recipes

Candie Concerts Continue

Why not end your week with the sublime voices of the Guernsey Welsh Voice Choir - Join the Guernsey Welsh Voice choir as part of the Candie Concerts Series on the 25 June from 3pm - 4pm.

The Guernsey Welsh Voice Choir are a group which perform many classic and Welsh pieces, as well as some more modern pieces arranged for choral renditions, such as the ever popular Bridge Over Troubled Water! Coming to you fresh from their performance earlier this year at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, the dulcet tones of “The Boys” make for an amazing afternoon of entertainment. St Peter Port Sketch Club

Join the St Peter Port Sketch Club for urban sketching! This week, the group will meet at Trinity Square at 17:45 on the 29 June to sketch around the iconic triangle.

Each week, sketchers meet at a different location to draw for an hour, followed by a drink and a chat. No prior drawing skills are necessary - all you need is a sketchbook and a pen or pencil. The group includes people of all different age groups and backgrounds.

This year, sketches from the club will be exhibited in the George Crossan Gallery.

Bet Your Bottom Dollar Premiere Tickets now available

Tickets are now available for the Guernsey Premiere of Golden Goat’s debut short film "Bet Your Bottom Dollar".

The film will be taking place on the 15 September at The Princess Royal Centre for Performing Arts Theatre.

After watching the short film, you'll have the opportunity to ask the filmmakers questions at the post-screening audience Q&A. César Award nominee Marc F DURET, Oscar nominee Jonathan Tammuz, and composer Omar El-Deeb, who previously worked on The Mandalorian as score sound-designer, will take your questions virtually! Other members of the cast and crew will be present in-person.

Meet the Artist Lunchtime Tour -  30 June

Introduce some art and culture into your lunch hour with an engaging tour of Transfigurative. Meet local artist Jamie Fallaize on Friday 30 June and delve into his world of textured paints. 

Jamie’s exhibition ‘ Transfigurative ’ is on now in the greenhouse gallery, hosted by Guernsey Arts.

Through influences such as Caravaggio and Goya, Jamie uses contemporary techniques and materials in exploring traditional figurative painting.

The tour starts at 12.30 and lasts 30 minutes. There is no need to book - visiting the museum is free with a Discovery Pass.
