Anti social fly tippers dump goods on driveway

Saturday 07 July 2018

Flytippers have been leaving their rubbish; including a chest of drawers and a wheelbarrow, on the driveway of a house near the Bridge.

The homeowners called Guernsey Police after they kept finding rubbish left on their property throughout last month.

Guernsey Police are now investigating after the problem persisted.

PC Blondel said;

"Sometime over the course of June 2018, a number of items have been deposited on a private driveway along Mont Morin, St Sampson on several occasions.

"The property, known as Deuxieme Chance, has had a number of unwanted items dumped on their driveway including a set of bedroom drawers, one tonne bags containing a large plant pot and recycling, and an old rusted wheelbarrow, among other items."

This has not only left the homeowners with an unpleasant view from their own house, but they've also had to pay for the unwanted waste to be removed.

Now, Guernsey Police are asking for any witnesses to the dumping of the waste to come forward. Anyone who knows anything can contact PC 115 Blondel on 725111.

Guernsey Police have also said they "would urge residents in the area to be vigilant of any persons who may be dumping waste unlawfully in gardens and driveways and would appeal for the person(s) responsible to arrange with the owners of the premises for the immediate removal of this waste."
