A number of Guernsey's schools will be tackling bullying this week by focusing on raising awareness of this issue during 'Anti-Bullying Week'.
The national awareness week, which runs from 11 - 15 November, has been organised by the Anti-Bullying Alliance.
The overall aim is to raise awareness among children and young people, parents and carers on the issue of bulling.
The Guernsey and Alderney Youth Commission is running the scheme in the islands, with the theme ‘Change Starts With Us’ which emphasises that by making small simple changes, we can break the cycle of bullying to create a safe environment for all.
They're taking that message into a number of island secondary schools, along with holding an overall day of awareness.
On Tuesday 12 November, people are encouraged to mark 'Odd Socks Day' which aims to encourage people to express and celebrate their individuality and uniqueness.
The Youth Commission said; "We will be proud to get involved with the Odd Socks Day and will be visiting secondary schools throughout the week to raise awareness of the issue of bulling and the support that is available in partnership with Savills.
"If you have been suffering from bulling or know someone who has, the Youth Commission’s Emotional Health and Support Team can provide one-to-one support for young people aged 11-18. It is a free service where young people can talk openly about anything in a safe and confidential environment. Please contact us if you would like to receive some support."
