Andrew Courtney has been put forward to fill the vacant office of Jurat at the Royal Court.

A replacement is needed for Jurat Joanne Wyatt.

In a statement, the Deputy Bailiff, Ms Jessica Roland, said:

"Mr Andrew Courtney is proposed by Deputy Lyndon Trott and seconded by Deputy John Gollop.

"Nominations opened on the 7 th June and the closing date for nominations is 4.00 p.m. on Friday, 28 th June, 2024. The States of Election will meet on Wednesday, 17th July, 2024 to choose the new Jurat.

"The States of Election currently comprises the Bailiff and the Law Officers, the Jurats, the eligible Rectors, the People’s Deputies and 34 Douzaine Representatives. All have a vote except for the Bailiff who may only vote in the event of a tie."
