Amherst is holding its School Summer Fair tomorrow afternoon, to raise money for a number of Chrome Books the school recently purchased.
The fair is set to be held in the school's playing field from 15:15 until 17:30 on Friday 6, with a huge range of activities on offer.
Parking is also on offer at the school on the junior playground, and Beau Sejour will be providing overflow parking until 18:00.
"We have plenty to keep families entertained including a Slip & Slide, Bouncy Castles, Face Painting, Junior Joey, Football and Netball Penalty Shoot Out, visits by the Emergency Services and you can guess how many balloons we have squeezed into a brand new car to win a hamper," Martina Ozanne from the PTA organising committee said.
"We have many traditional stalls such as Tombolas, Bric a Brac, second hand books and toys, wine & water etc and we also have a variety of fun games for you to try all manned by our very own year 6 students. The fabulous cheerleaders Rebellion Allstars will be performing as will the talented dancers of the Karen Dempsey School of Dance."
Alongside all of these activities, there will also be wet sponge throwing, students performing with Maypolers, hot food and refreshments all on offer.
The raffle will be the star of the event with prizes including £250 cash, return Aurigny flights and a range of vouchers. The tickets for the raffle have already been available throughout this week.
"The PTA are very proud to have recently purchased a number of Chrome Books for the school to facilitate the children’s learning," Ms Ozanne added.
"Access to these laptops better equip the children when they head to Secondary school and need to join on-line learning groups and collaborate and share their work in the cloud. These are valuable skills that support the new curriculum and help the children to take more ownership of their learning. We are looking to raise enough money to purchase more Chrome Books so a whole year group can use them to complete group tasks or projects."
Funds raised also allow the children of Amherst Primary to take part in activities which they otherwise may never experience such as year group camping trips, herm trips, sea scouts, cinema visits, ice skating and much more.
