A Dornier suffered a hydraulic failure on approach into Guernsey Airport this morning [23 May] but landed safely.
The incident led to the runway being closed for 40 minutes.
Guernsey Ports has published the following statement:
“The runway at Guernsey Airport was closed for around 40 minutes this morning after a Dornier 228 aircraft reported a hydraulic failure on approach shortly after 8.10am.
“The aircraft landed safely on the runway but was unable to taxi off. There were no injuries reported, and the 17 passengers on board were transferred to the terminal by bus.
“The Guernsey Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting Service attended the aircraft, which was subsequently towed off the runway at 8.41am. The runway reopened at 8.50am and normal operations have now resumed.”
