Advice given to boat owners after theft

Tuesday 03 August 2021

Guernsey Police has warned boat owners to check their vessels are secure following a reported theft aboard one boat moored in St Peter Port.

The vessel in question was moored in the QE2 Marina when a data card was reportedly taken from a built-in Garmin plotter sometime between 17:00 on Saturday 24 July and 10:00 the following morning.

A spokesman for Bailiwick Law Enforcement urged boat owners to make sure their vessels are secure.

"Guernsey Police would like to speak to any members of the public who may have information in relation to a complaint of theft being made of a Garmin data card being taken from a vessel," they said.

"Guernsey Police would also like to advise the boating community to check their vessels and ensure that all valuable items are secured away appropriately."

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Guernsey Police on 222 222 or to contact CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 and refer to OC21*5281.
