The Lions Club of Guernsey annual Donkey derby takes place today with the latest show marking the 50th anniversary of the popular family event.
Including a charities fair, the event is held at Saumarez Park, and along with the popular donkey races there will also be charity stalls, competitions and games like crown and anchor.
Gates open at 11:30 with the first race at 13:00. Throughout the afternoon the races will take place in the arena, including the popular media races, known as sulky races, where the competitors sit in a small carriage behind the donkey.
Donkey rides will also be available for children and the day is marketed as a family day out. Should you wish to bet on the races then a tote will be set-up to enable you to have a "flutter" and a beer tent will be open for refreshments, the event finishes at 17:30.
The event is free, although parking will cost £5.00 per car at Home Farm Field.
