A tent made from Nano Cure Technology (NCT) claims to be able to have small punctures and holes repaired with just a rub of a finger.

Imperial Motion has taken to Kickstarter to fund the waterproof tent, which uses specially designed fabric to prevent damage to the overall structure.

The company also creates backpacks, hammocks, and jackets with the same special material.

Imperial Motion said: “NCT is a lightweight, water-resistant, nylon ripstop with resealing and repairing capabilities. Naturally, nylon ripstop is extremely durable, but when combined with the special double-sided coating and the heat of your fingers, small holes and punctures can be repaired.

“The reinforced fibres of the ripstop also create additional reinforcement and support around the puncture, which also aids in the repair function.

“The healing effect works very well on small punctures or lacerations which means we certainly don’t recommend testing your new tent with big scissors or knives.”

Imperial Motion has raised more than $83,000 (around £63,000) of its fundraising goal of $100,000 (around £76,000).

Kickstarter backers can get a reward sample of the “healing” fabric for pledging $15 (around £11), and purchase the tent itself for $200 (around £150).

Estimated delivery for all rewards is December 2018.
