Google has launched a range of family-friendly features on Google Assistant and Google Home in the UK.
The new features include interactive learning, games, nursery rhymes, bedtime stories and soothing sounds, which can be triggered with phrases such as “Hey Google, tell me a story”.
Apps include Little Baby Bum, which assists parents and children in their daily routine, Learning Time With Timmy, which helps children learn new words, StoryCastle, which offers children’s audiobooks, and Moshi Twilight, which is a range of stories and soothing sounds for bedtime.
Vicki Shotbolt, CEO and founder of Parent Zone, said: “It is really exciting to see Google encouraging the development of family-friendly apps.
“Technology is a huge part of family life so it’s important that parents have the tools they need to stay in control, and that there is a good supply of high-quality content available for children.
“Helping families to get the best out of the internet couldn’t be more important.”
In total there are 20 new experiences for children and families that can be accessed across multiple devices.
