Grade: Grade D £545.48 - £564.49 per week (£14.3547 - £14.8550 per hour)

 

Full/part time, mornings and evenings available, Term Time Only also considered.

 

 

The States of Guernsey is seeking to appoint a Senior Carer to join the Care and Support Staff Team within Adult Community Services. 

 

Previous qualifications or experience is desirable although not necessarily required, as full training can be given during your induction period towards a Complete Care Certificate.  

 

You will provide personal care and support in order to enable service users to remain in their own home for as long as possible whilst following specific care plans. You will provide basic health and personal care and practical support as determined by assessed needs, to help people to live as independently as possible in their own homes. 

 

Flexible hours can be considered to suit your lifestyle and family commitments e.g. term time, late starts etc.

Appointment to this role will be subject to the following pre-employment checks which will be completed following an offer of employment:

 

  • Satisfactory references which must include one from the candidate's current line manager
  • Occupational Health Clearance
  • Satisfactory, Enhanced, Disclosure and Barring Service Check with Barred Listing Check.  Convictions likely to be considered relevant to this post include crimes involving, but not limited to, theft, violence, dishonesty, fraud, vulnerable individuals and children
  • Confirmation of required qualifications / registrations
  • Possession of a valid Employment Permit

 

Should the successful applicant not meet the requirements sufficiently he/she may be appointed at a lower grade than stated. The successful applicant would then have the opportunity to progress to the grade advertised once the necessary skills and knowledge have been developed and they have demonstrated the ability to undertake the duties at the higher level.
