Grade: With effect from 1 January 2023, the salary scale will be - PSE Grade A - £12.3734 - £12.7795 per hour

The States of Guernsey are looking for a Minibus Passenger Assistant. The post is contracted 15 hours of work per week for 38 weeks (term-time).

The approximate duty times are typically within the range:

7.20 am 9.20am, and
2.40pm 4.40pm, weekdays

Through mutual agreement, between the Minibus Driver and the Transport Officer, there may be the opportunity to work additional hours. If these hours are worked they will be paid at the normal hourly rate.

Appointment to this role will be subject to the following pre-employment checks which will be completed following an offer of employment:

 

  • Satisfactory references which must include one from the candidate's current line manager
  • Occupational Health Clearance
  • Satisfactory, Enhanced, Disclosure and Barring Service Check with Barred Listing Check.  Convictions likely to be considered relevant to this post include crimes involving, but not limited to, theft, violence, dishonesty, fraud, vulnerable individuals and children
  • Confirmation of required qualifications / registrations
  • Possession of a valid Employment Permit
  •  

Should the successful applicant not meet the requirements sufficiently he/she may be appointed at a lower grade than stated. The successful applicant would then have the opportunity to progress to the grade advertised once the necessary skills and knowledge have been developed and they have demonstrated the ability to undertake the duties at the higher level.

 

The States of Guernsey and the Committee for Education, Sport and Culture is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all employees and unsupervised volunteers to share this commitment. The post holder will therefore be required to undergo an Enhanced and Barred List DBS check and is recommended to be registered with its Status Update Service.
