Guernsey Post Limited is looking to recruit
a talented and driven individual to Head up our Finance team.
The role will
require the successful candidate to be responsible for the day to day management of the Finance team. Acting as a focal point for all financial and
management reporting responsibilities, ensuring deadlines are met, with a “hands-on”
supportive approach to all areas of the team in achieving the department’s
targets.
The candidate will play a leading role in delivering on
finance and non-finance led projects and initiatives, identifying and implementing
ongoing process and control improvements and gaining an understanding of the
needs of the business in order to develop value added financial information for
better business decision making purposes.
Excellent communication skills and being able
to demonstrable experience in leading and positively engaging a team with a
wide range of skills and experience is essential.
Knowledge & Skills required of Head
of Finance candidates:
- A qualified accountant with post qualification experience preferably
working within a commercial environment
- Previous management experience essential
- A team player with excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to lead by example and demonstrate a strong sense of integrity,
ethics and dependability
- Strong reporting and budgeting experience
- Proven and embedded internal controls mindset
- Attention to detail, with proven analytical skills
- Commercially astute, with the ability to see the bigger picture
- Results driven and ability to work under pressure
- Advanced computer software skills, with experience in using technology
to help standardise and automate key workflows and processes
The recruitment process requires
a basic police clearance. Candidates
with unspent convictions for dishonesty or drug offences will not be eligible
for appointment.
