We have a great opportunity looking for a committed and motivated individual to work as a grounds person/maintenance/Handyman (person) to the Constables of St Peter Port. This will be a very variable and interesting role.Key responsibilities will include:This is a very special role as it also includes liaising with the public as a representative of the St Peter Port Constables. Good working hours with a fair remuneration and ability for some overtime hours when necessary. Training will be given. Unlock/lock gates daily, mow and trim grass, keep free of litter and generally maintain neat and tidy. Ensure plantation is free of litter and weeds and looks neat and tidy (shrubs require occasional attention). Regular litter pick, weeding and occasional pruning of fuchsia so it does not overhang through the railings). Occasional jobs required at the office - moving furniture, minor maintenance jobs. Deadhead floral displays during the summer months weekly. Clean parish toilets and empty rubbish bins and litter pick (daily). Keep in good order workshops and stores, machinery and equipment. Be the Parishs eyes and ears and report any problems to the office. This is not a definitive list and other duties and maintenance jobs may be required from time to time.The successful candidate will have: Relevant previous experience of performing similar duties. Candidates must be based in Guernsey and have a valid right to work document to work in Guernsey. Good communication skills to deal with the General Public. Physically fit and ideally with driving licence.
