Full Description
Our client is seeking a dedicated Accountant to join their finance function on a full or part-time basis, primarily supporting their Guernsey businesses. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, producing management accounts, managing client billing, and supporting cashflow forecasting and audit processes. Job Duties:
Perform day-to-day bookkeeping, transaction processing, and accounting.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records, including reconciliations of bank accounts and ledger items.
Prepare schedules for fixed assets, debtors, accruals, and prepayments.
Produce financial statements, monthly management accounts, and ad-hoc financial reports in accordance with IFRS/UK GAAP.
Manage intra-group transactions and ensure timely reconciliation.
Execute client billing, maintain sales ledgers, and oversee debtor collection.
Handle supplier management, including payment preparation and cost verification.
Prepare financial reports, including asset statements and solvency tests.
Assist in the budgeting process and compile cashflow and financial resource requirement projections.
Manage VAT and equivalent tax reporting, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Support the annual financial audit and other regulatory checks.
Stay informed on changes to the financial, legal, and regulatory framework affecting the organisation.
Undertake administrative tasks, including daily time billing entry and cross-jurisdictional collaboration.
Contribute to departmental growth by supporting ad-hoc projects and evolving team functions.
Job Requirements:
Holds or is studying towards AAT, ACA, ACCA, or another recognised accounting qualification.
Minimum of 3 years' accounting experience.
Sound knowledge of general accounting principles and relevant financial regulations.
Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Proactive, flexible, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Strong time management, organisational, and prioritisation skills.
High level of accuracy and competence in bookkeeping and accounting.
Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with senior management.
