As we fly headfirst into the so-called ‘party season’ I thought it would be a good time to pause and take stock of what has been achieved so far this year. There is still plenty to be achieved of course with deadlines and targets not easing up just because the nights are drawing in and Christmas films are being advertised on the TV, but I always catch myself thinking ‘wow this year has flown by’ when the winter months come around.
As the days and weeks turn into months and seasons it is very easy to get lost in the moment so often that time flies without us really having a grip on what we’re doing, or how we’re doing.
That’s why each month this year I have enjoyed reading the submissions from the team at Guernsey Mind. As our Charity Partner for 2024, Amanda Hibbs and her colleagues have helped me focus my mind. I hope they’ve helped you too?
By encouraging us all to focus on our wellbeing at work throughout this year – among many other commendable topics - they’ve helped us improve our wellbeing overall.
Thank you, Guernsey Mind.
I’d also like to thank the team at Guernsey Chamber of Commerce who have continued to keep us updated and informed of events and discussions of interest to the business community. At the time of writing, I am very much looking forward to the People, Planet and (Mary) Portas gala event that Chamber is hosting in November. I look forward to seeing you there!
To all our regular – and occasional – contributors, thank you for your support during another CONNECT year too. Together we are truly stronger, as an island community and as a business community. If you’ve been part of our journey this year, then our success is down to you. I look forward to working with you again during 2025.
If you’ve not yet joined the CONNECT community, then don’t hesitate to get in touch. We are always looking for interesting stories to tell. I look forward to hearing from you.
In the meantime, enjoy Connect – and enjoy the last few weeks of 2024 and all that this time may bring you.
