The Family Nursing & Home Care (FNHC) Parish Wellness Roadshows are coming to St Helier this month, and Islanders who live or work in town are being encouraged to come along and find out more about the Charity and how to prevent illness and prolong life.

The second FNHC Parish Wellness Roadshow is taking place at the Town Hall on Wednesday 10th February between 2.30 and 5.30pm. FNHC community nurses will be on hand to offer advice on a range of issues such as health eating, smoking cessation, breastfeeding and other tips relating to health promotion and illness prevention. Attendees will also be able to receive basic health checks and learn about what services are available to Islanders through the charity.

"We have organised the FNHC Parish Wellness Roadshows to get out in to the community and talk to people about the variety of services we provide," said FNHC Fundraising Manager, Ivo Le Maistre Smith.

"St Helier is an important destination on our tour as it is where a large majority of Islanders live and work. Not many people know that we are the largest charity provider of health and community care in the Island, or that we have dedicated teams trained in health visiting, school and children’s nursing, district and specialist nursing, as well as home care and palliative care. We are hoping that people will be able to take 15 minutes out of their working day to come along and find out more about the services we offer as a charity," he added.

The event is free to attend and no pre-registration is required. Complimentary teas, coffees and light refreshments will be available throughout the afternoon.
