Ogier has been named as one of only two top tier law firms in Guernsey for corporate finance and investment funds advice by Chambers UK, the latest legal directory to publish its findings.
Partners Advocate Caroline Chan, Advocate William Simpson and Advocate Frances Watson were singled out for praise.
Advocate Chan was noted as being "very reliable and good to work with", Advocate Watson as "technically very good" and Advocate Simpson as being able to "bring his experience to bear, and is a pleasure to work with".
The dispute resolution team was identified as having "an enviable record representing clients in insolvency matters".
Partner Advocate Simon Davies was ranked as a leading individual and Advocate Mathew Newman as an "up and coming" lawyer. The dispute resolution team celebrated its tenth anniversary in Guernsey recently and was described as being "packed full of intelligent, proactive and gifted lawyers who bring a sensible, robust and commercial approach to their work".
Advocate Davies' reputation as a senior litigator was confirmed by one source who stated he was "perhaps the leading advocate on Guernsey. A highly experienced litigator, he is savvy with an in-depth but broad knowledge of the law - he is also a brilliant tactician". Advocate Newman was also commended for being "hard-working, industrious and imaginative"" and "always prepared to do that bit more for his clients".
Advocate Marcus Leese, practice partner at Ogier said: "It is good to see we are consolidating our position at the top of the Guernsey legal market for our corporate finance and investment funds practice through Chambers UK and also recently in the IFLR results. We are very grateful to our clients for their contribution to our latest directory success and for providing such positive feedback for all our legal teams."
