Representatives from PwC, Coller Capital, Dexion Capital, Baring Vostok, Hermes GPE and Metric Capital have been added to the roster of speakers for the Guernsey Funds Forum 2015.
It has already been announced that Guy Hands, Chairman and Chief Investment Officer of Terra Firma Capital Partners Limited, will be the keynote speaker at this year’s forum and that it will be moderated for the sixth successive year by ITV News anchor, Alastair Stewart OBE.
The annual event is this year titled ‘Achieving stability in a world of change’ and takes place on Thursday 14 May in London. It is once again expected to attract more than 350 delegates.
Dominic Wheatley, Chief Executive of Guernsey Finance, said: “I am delighted that we have been able to secure such a prestigious line up of speakers for this year’s forum. I expect that Guy will be a huge draw for many delegates but the quality of the other contributors is very high and I am looking forward to hearing their thoughts on the latest trends and developments within the asset management sector.”
The half-day forum will open with the keynote speech from Mr Hands, who will be providing an insight into the current global environment and what it means for investment opportunities, such as private equity. It will be followed by two panel sessions.
The first panel will look at meeting the needs of European private equity and focus on Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS), manager experiences of private placement under the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD) and the latest on AIFMD passporting.
Panellists will be Karen Sands from Hermes GPE, Robert Mellor of PwC, Tim Hames from the British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (BVCA), James Gee of Weil and Emma Bailey from the Guernsey Financial Services Commission (GFSC).
The second panel will look at the future of investment entities including a focus on regulatory issues arising out of AIFMD and initiatives such as the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) and the Common Reporting Standard (CRS), case studies on the latest Initial Public Offering (IPO) innovations and governance challenges.
Speakers will be Ravi Anand of Dexion Capital, Peter Denton from Starwood Capital Europe Advisers, Ian Sayers from the Association of Investment Companies (AIC), Erik Jamieson from Hogan Lovells and Tom Attenborough of the London Stock Exchange.
There will also be contributions during the forum from Frank Oschenfeld of Coller Capital, Michael Calvey from Baring Vostok and Peter Cornell from Metric Capital.
Michel Davy, a Non-Executive Director and a member of the Guernsey Funds Forum organising committee, added: “I am very pleased with the quality and range of speakers we have secured for this year’s forum. They are all able to provide a unique perspective on the key issues which are impacting the global funds industry.
“With Alastair Stewart back again as moderator, I expect that he’ll be getting right to the heart of matters. This event should provide delegates with some extremely useful insight into the asset management sector both now and the future.”
