Nearly 200 Year 12 students took part in a variety of team building challenges and activities at this year’s Sixth Form Centre, EY Year 12 Team Building Day on Friday 13 September.
Sponsored by EY, the annual team building day gives students the opportunity to meet their peers and build lasting relationships ahead of two years of either A Level or IB studies.
The students worked in their tutor groups to take on challenges, with a prize for Best Team and Best Individual being awarded at the end of the day. The team building day took place at the Scout Headquarters at Les Maingys and was led by staff from The Sixth Form Centre, EY and Outdoor Guernsey.
Fiona Morton, Partner and CI Head of Talent at EY, said: ‘We’re delighted to be continuing our support of the Sixth Form Centre’s Team Building Day. It’s a great opportunity for the students to take part in fun challenges, where they will work together to build strong and collaborative teams, while forming new friendships and building their soft skills. These will include communication, problem-solving and teaming, all of which are so vital in the workplace and beyond. We hope all the students enjoyed the day and wish everyone the best of luck with their studies over the coming year.’
Kieran James, Principal of The Sixth Form Centre, said: ‘The Year 12 Team Building Day is a key induction and enrichment opportunity in the Sixth Form calendar. It allows our new students to get to know each other and their tutor well, and to build friendships through a day of fun and supportive teamwork. The year group participates in their tutor groups. Each one chooses their own team name and costumes, always with very creative results. We remain extremely grateful for EY’s generous support, which enables this valuable event to continue each year. We are also very appreciative of the time EY's team members, along with those from Les Maingys and Outdoor Guernsey, contribute to make the day such a success'.
