THE Guernsey Occupational Safety and Health Association (GOSHA) is holding a presentation and talk on the safe use of drones this week.

Drones, also known as Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, are now commonly seen throughout the world and deployed militarily, commercially and recreationally but little is known about their use, regulations and flight safety. Darren Dupre, who is the blah blah blah, will take the audience through the benefits drones bring as a working tool and also the pitfalls if not used properly.

Andrew Mills, Chairman of GOSHA said the talk would be invaluable for those keen to take their first steps into radio controlled flight.

‘Darren’s talk will focus on drone operations specifically in the Channel Islands and provide an insight into what is a new and exciting world. It is one though that can be potentially hazardous, so it will be a fascinating presentation.’

The talk takes place at La Villette Hotel, on Thursday 15 February at 18:30. Attendance is £12.50 for GOSHA members or £15 for non-members which includes the cost of dinner. Attendees can email secretary@gosha.org.gg or register at http://www.gosha.org.gg/event-registration/
