Three directors and a personal assistant at Rossborough Insurance are celebrating more than 60 years with the company.

Managing director Ian Stewart, his fellow Guernsey directors Steve Moullin and Tony De Sousa, and PA Caroline Renouf all received a £100 voucher and bottle of champagne to mark 15 years’ service to the company.

"Rossborough prides itself on being loyal to its staff and having an open, welcoming attitude. I think it’s these things that help the company retain its staff and maintain a happy, industrious workforce," said Mr Stewart.

Mrs Renouf added: "Rossborough is a solid company with a good presence in the Channel Islands. It’s the people that make it the place it is; a lot of former colleagues have become close friends and my current colleagues form part of my Rossborough family."

All three Guernsey directors joined the company within months of one another, between the end of 2000 and the beginning of 2001. Mrs Renouf started in 2000, after five years at another insurance firm.

Previously, Mr De Sousa worked in the hospitality industry, managing hotels, while Mr Moullin began his career as a marine insurance broker.

Mr Stewart, whose first job with Rossborough was in Jersey, has worked in insurance all his life – starting at the bottom.

"I joined Legal & General in Plymouth when I was 17 as post boy/ messenger. A vacancy came up in the commercial department and I’ve been involved with commercial insurance ever since," he said.

"Becoming Managing Director was a very proud moment, especially considering my post boy start in insurance."
