Guernsey Electricity’s 2016 charity calendar is now on sale with all proceeds going to local charity Only Fools and Donkeys.

The calendar features photos of local beauty spots captured by Guernsey Electricity employees.

This year the annual competition saw 62 entries with eight members of staff chosen to contribute to the final product. This includes striking photos of Grand Havre, Bluebell Woods and Shell Beach.

Dave Smart was named the overall winner of the competition with his photograph of a poppy field in St Peters which will take the front cover. He was also given the chance to choose the charity that would benefit from calendar sales.

Only Fools and Donkeys was set up by two local sport enthusiasts in 2010 to raise money for local projects such as the Guernsey Sports Association for the Disabled, St Martin’s Day Centre and Le Rondin School.

Mike Marshall at Only Fools and Donkeys, said: “We are so pleased to be chosen as the beneficiary charity of the 2016 Guernsey Electricity calendar. We are really impressed by the quality of the chosen photographs and look forward to seeing them appear around the island soon.’

Clare Packman, communications manager at Guernsey Electricity, said: “The calendars are a great way to showcase the creative talent at Guernsey Electricity while raising funds for a deserving, local charity. Only Fools and Donkeys makes a real difference in the lives of people who are facing real adversity and we’re proud to support this.”

The calendar will be available to purchase from the Guernsey Electricity showroom for a minimum donation of £2.

Last year the calendar benefitted Channel Islands Air Search and raised a total of £2,150.
