CHOUET Green Waste site will be closed this Monday 7th May due to the closure of the main access road.

The Green Waste site at Chouet headland will close because Mont Cuet Road, the main access road for the site, will be shut on Monday 7th May due to the horse racing event taking place at L’Ancresse that day. The site will be open as normal for the rest of the week, with the exception of Liberation Day when it will close, along with all States of Guernsey waste and recycling sites.

Recycling Officer, Ben Henry, said:

‘If anyone has to clear some green waste on that day there will still be a drop-off facility available at Le Friquet Garden Centre, for a small fee to cover the transportation to Mont Cuet green waste site where it will be processed into soil conditioner,’ he said.

Islanders are reminded that the Longue Hougue Recycling Facility will be open from 8am – 5pm on Monday 7th May, but all other States waste and recycling sites will be closed due to the Bank Holiday. All sites will be closed on Liberation Day, re-opening on Thursday 10th May as usual.
