Director of Granite Le Pelley Jersey, Pascal Maurice and Richard Breban, director of Granite Le Pelley Guernsey, have both been promoted. Phil Le Roy, former managing director of Granite Le Pelley Guernsey and Jersey, will move to the Garenne Group headquarters to a new role for the group which will oversee both the traditional stone and architectural precast businesses in the Channel Islands and the UK.
‘Both Pascal and Richard have been an integral part in the growth and success of Granite Le Pelley in Jersey and Guernsey and will have a clear role to continue building the company in their respective islands,’ said Garenne Group chief executive officer Andy Hall.
‘By recognising their contribution and making these promotions, we can then utilise Phil’s experience and expertise across the wider Garenne Group.’
Mr Maurice, who has a degree in Civil Works and Structural Engineering from the prestigious Ecole Nationale d’Ingenieur de Saint Etienne de Genie Civil, E.N.I.S.E, moved to Granite Le Pelley from its sister company Camerons in 2010. He has worked on a number of high profile projects including 44, Esplanade, Durrell’s new visitor centre and Liberty Wharf. In the last year he has launched the restoration and cleaning service for Granite Le Pelly with two notable projects successfully completed; New Look and St James.
‘Granite Le Pelley is the leading Channel Islands’ stone company and in Jersey is the only local company which specialises in all three main areas of work; natural stone rainscreen cladding, facade restoration and cleaning and traditional random stonework,’ he said.
‘The art of stone masonry has been crucial in the finish of all traditional buildings throughout the island’s history and today this skill is just as important, as many clients want to blend a traditional finish with contemporary designs. I am looking forward to the challenge of ensuring that Granite Le Pelley continues to be a successful business.’
Mr Breban joined Granite Le Pelley in 1983 and trained as a stonemason alongside the company’s founder Mick Le Pelley. He has worked for the company for over 24 years and as a Director for the last 14 years. Mr Breban, who has been president of the South Show for 10 years and is also a member of the Forest Douzaine, has worked on some of the company’s most notable projects including the Royal Court, Marina View and One St Julian’s Avenue.
Mr Breban sees the restoration of traditional Guernsey properties continuing to be a key area of work in the future.
‘Granite Le Pelley is a company I have been with for most of my working life and I have seen it grow and develop over three decades. The experience I have gained from being a director will be invaluable in my new role of managing director as I take on the challenge of further expanding the company and contributing to the continuing success of the Garenne Group as a whole,’ he said.
