Lloyds Bank Foundation Channel Islands (LBFCI) awarded £612,851 to 12 charities in 2022. Supporting charities who work with disabled, disadvantaged and excluded people, LBFCI celebrated its 37th birthday at the end of last year, having contributed more than £21 million to charities in the Channel Islands.
Eight Jersey charities were awarded grants in 2022, with a further four in Guernsey. Among the services supported by the funds are the vulnerable women’s service at The Shelter Trust and the Jubilee Social Club at Guernsey Voluntary Service. Other charities benefitting include Guernsey Mind, Jersey Recovery College and Kairos Arts.
In addition to their usual grant funding, LBFCI has made a further £61,375 available to charities as a cost-of-living uplift. This means that charities in receipt of a grant at the end of 2022 receive an additional 7.6% of funding on grant payments made in 2022 and 2023.
Philippa Stahelin, Chair of LBFCI, comments, “It’s been another difficult year for charities in the Channel Islands and the communities they work to support. Throughout 2022 our charity partners have risen to every challenge, and I feel privileged to have witnessed this first-hand.
“As we move into 2023, I encourage all charities operating in Jersey, Guernsey and Alderney to take advantage of the full range of support measures we offer. Alongside funding, the Foundation offers developmental support through mentoring, skills exchange programmes, charity forums, and training and events.
“My admiration and thanks go out to all charities working to deliver vital support to the communities in our Islands who need it most.”
Applications for funding from Lloyds Foundation Channel Islands are open year-round, with three deadline dates of Thursday 16th February, Thursday 25th May and Thursday 21st September 2023.
