Guernsey Mind has put on a second date for its Recognising and Managing Anxiety in the Workplace seminar after the first was oversubscribed.
The new event will take place on 28 February at the offices of BWCI and will include a one-hour interactive session designed to equip participants with the tools to recognise and manage employees who may experience anxiety at work. Guernsey Mind chairman, John Curran, said such anxiety may or may not be work-related but it could have a significant impact on the individual and their ability to perform at work.
“The seminar will give participants the tools needed to recognise the signs of anxiety and they will leave with ideas of how to support employees and colleagues as well as understanding measures to minimise the workplace impact,” he said.
Guernsey Mind’s Emily Litten will discuss strategies for managing anxiety while Dr Bob Gallagher, a local GP/occupational health doctor, will provide medical expertise in this area. Sponsored by BWCI, HR Manager, Alison Hawkins, will be on hand to share her company’s experiences of supporting mental health well-being in the workplace.
“There are often subtle signs of anxiety and it is imperative, both for the affected person and those working with them, that such issues are seen and supported as early as possible,” she said.
Places are limited to 20 and a nominal £10 fee will be charged per delegate. To register please e-mail mind@bwcigroup.com with the delegate’s name and company.
