Aurigny returned to Jersey with a Trislander at the weekend, but this time it travelled on the boat rather than flying across!

To celebrate their return, the Guernsey based airline took over their demonstration aircraft to the Jersey Motoring Show and were met with many islanders who remembered the little yellow planes.

The new service marks Aurigny returning to Jersey with their own aircraft after almost five years absence. Aurigny commenced their Jersey to Guernsey service on 28thof May 2019, but instead of the Trilanders on the interisland service, this time they are using an ATR 42.

Many of those attending the motor show reminisced about G-JOEY and the regular Aurigny services and welcomed their return.

Jess Mauger, PR Manager, said: “We are delighted to be returning to Jersey and it was great to see so many people at the motor show who remembered us. As our demonstration aircraft is literally an old Trislander cut in half, people can go inside a real cockpit and press as many buttons as they like. Both children and adults alike spent time in the captain’s chair with earphones experiencing first-hand what it would have been like to fly one.

People are passionate about us returning to our sister island, given Aurigny’s heritage on the route. We are operating weekday morning and evening flights, giving customers the choice of a day return and convenient times for business and leisure passengers.”

Whilst at the show the company raised £162.25 for Channel Islands Air Search, which is a voluntary service providing a rapid response airborne search and rescue service in Channel Island waters.
