Team building activities were the focus of a trip to Lihou for 34 Year 5 pupils from Amherst Primary School.

This was the school’s last in conjunction with its charitable partner, Investec Private Banking, whose staff members have accompanied the group for its annual sleepovers for the last three years.

Two groups were taken over two nights and they enjoyed activities such as archery, orienteering and a treasure hunt.

Headteacher Tracey Moore said it was the highlight of the year for many of the students; she thanked Investec for its help over the last three years.

‘Investec’s involvement with the school has made such a huge difference – their staff have really got involved in with everything they’ve done, from our very successful breakfast club, to helping out with maths and reading,’ said Mrs Moore.

‘It’s been a thoroughly enjoyable and meaningful partnership with the bank and we are all extremely grateful for all that they have done for our pupils at Amherst, both in terms of financial support and the hours they have spent with us.’

Stephen Henry, head of Investec Private Banking in the Channel Islands, added: ‘It was always our aim to provide not only money but on the ground help and support within the school. I am grateful to my staff for the fantastic efforts they have made to enable this to happen. They have built up a close relationship with pupils and staff members and we will miss them.’
