Nearly 100 Brownies and their leaders will take part in a fun competition on the afternoon of Saturday 17th June at the Scout and Guide Headquarters at Rue Mainguy. This annual competition was put on hold during the pandemic but is back now and the winning Brownie Unit will be awarded the Lady Mills Cup.
The girls all aged between 7 and 10 will be taking part in a variety of activities based on a water theme. Brownie Adviser Sarah-Jane Carmichael said “the Brownies will be in groups and will be taking part in lots of water games. These include filling buckets with water from cups with holes, water races, making boats from recycled materials and decorating water themed sun catchers. They will finish with a snack and a drink and the winning unit will be presented with the Lady Mills trophy”
Bailiwick Commissioner Colette Merrien said “Every year we aim to have an event that brings all the girls together and I’m so pleased that we are able to hold our competition this week. Our aim is to offer girls and young women a space where they can be themselves, have fun, build brilliant friendships and gain valuable lifeskills. Bringing girls together for an activity day like this is a great way to achieve these ambitions.
