The GTA University Centre has signed a partnership agreement with the Chartered Institute of Marketing to ensure that marketers in the Channel Islands can continue to benefit from recognised marketing courses.
"The Guernsey branch of CIM is no longer active but we knew how important it was to offer CIM recognised courses within the Channel Islands and so we have partnered with the national body in order that we can meet demand from locally-based marketers," said GTA University Centre programmes manager Sarah Elliott.
The partnership will mean that two CIM courses will be offered through the GTA in 2015 with the new Certificate in Professional Marketing starting in January and the new Diploma in Professional Marketing running from September.
"CIM has undertaken some extensive research to ensure their courses are what the industry requires and as a result have launched new qualifications and we’re delighted that we can offer two of them locally supported by the CIM and delivered by their own tutors," said Mrs Elliott.
The certificate covers marketing, integrated communications and digital marketing and the diploma is made up of strategic marketing, mastering metrics and digital strategy.
"We know the focus on digital marketing will be particularly appealing as the ever-evolving, dynamic digital landscape is something all companies are looking at and it’s important that marketers understand how to develop skills to improve their effectiveness within this space," said Mrs Elliott.
CIM chief executive Anne Godfrey said the continuing relationship between CIM and the GTA was important.
"The partnership with GTA University Centre allows us to continue to deliver our marketing qualification programmes to the Channel Islands’ marketers in their local environment while experiencing the benefit of CIM Academy’s experienced tutors."
Registration for the Certificate in Professional Marketing is now open ahead of the January 2015 start date. The nine month course includes six days of workshops and costs £2,950.
