GSPCA Celebrating 150 years

You might remember Captain Birdseye the goldfish saved in a bucket from a gull to the recent pond of fish rescued needing a home. The GSPCA are currently helping another pond of ove 100 goldfish and if you can help please do get in touch.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “It seems that 2023 is the year of the goldfish at the GSPCA.”

“We were recently asked to help yet another pond full of fish in need of a home.”

“We already helped alot of fish when our GSPCA Welfare Officer Lorna Chadwick attending a pond where approximately 50 goldfish were in need of a new home due to the conditions where they were being kept and we are happy to say they all found new homes.”

“We also helped a very large goldfish called Captain Birdseye who was abandoned and recued when a gull was trying to eat him.”

This week we are helping yet another group of this time over 100 goldfish that have needing help as the pond is leaking.”

“Many have found homes but there are still quite a few needing a new pond home.”

“If you think you can help please do give us a call on 257261, pop in or email the team on admin@gspca.org.gg .” “We have many other animals in need of homes from reptiles to many ferrets, 45 rabbits to many older cats, a gecko to canaries, lots of cockerels to a parakeet.”

“If ever you are looking for a new pet then it is always a good idea to complete an adoption application form with the details of what you would like and you never know what we might have.”

Once your form is completed please email to admin@gspca.org.gg or post to GSPCA, Rue des Truchots, St Andrews, Guernsey, GY6 8UD and a member of team will phone you to discuss the animals in our care.
