The Saffery Champness Rotary Walk committee is reminding Guernsey charities that they only have until the end of March to apply for some of the total funds raised at this year’s event.

The walk, taking place on Saturday 7 June, has raised more than £550,000 for local charities since its inception in 1998 and has helped make a huge difference to a host a very worthwhile projects.

Submissions to the committee can be made by any local registered charity which is in need of financial support for a specific project or initiative.  Applications will need to have been made by 31 March, 2014.

Any charities that would like to apply for funding should email info@scrwalk.org.gg  or collect a form from Saffery Champness’ office at La Tonnelle House, Les Banques, St Sampson’s.

David Mortimer, chairman of the organising committee said: “Submissions of all kinds of projects, no matter how big or small will be considered for funding and should be made in writing outlining full details.”

Successful applicants will be informed by the Saffery Champness Rotary Walk committee in April and cheques will be presented at a post event reception in the autumn once all the sponsorship funds have been submitted.

Walkers can now register online at www.scrwalk.org.gg.
