Guernsey Electricity is once again sending its annual report to all its customers.

The double sided leaflet, which unfolds into a poster, contains important information and interesting facts and statistics about the company’s performance in 2014/2015.

The utilities’ report and accounts were approved by the States at the end of 2015, however, as in previous years; a more customer-friendly version has been produced for distribution.

The leaflet includes details of the development and repair of the Channel Islands’ cable network, the increased use of the undersea interconnector cable compared to 2013/2014, the work at the power station to further reduce its impact and the improvement of customer services.

Carbon emissions have also reduced and are expected to continue reducing. This is a result of importing 58% of the island’s electricity from Europe – a figure that is expected to increase as further improvements to the cable network are made.

Chief Executive Alan Bates said: “Islanders are interested in the performance of Guernsey Electricity. Not only do we supply our customers with power we all need but by being owned by the States, our customers like to see that we are acting appropriately and doing what is right for them and our island. Our annual report is a good opportunity to show them what we have achieved over the past year.”

All customers will be sent the leaflet, but islanders can also pick one up from the Guernsey Electricity showroom or view the report on the company’s website.
