Did you hear about Kobi?

During lockdown the GSPCA have been touched by many amazing stories of those wanting to support the work they do during these very difficult days.

Here is another they really want to share with you.

Vicky Nagy tells them all about her kind son Kobi - "My son is called Kobi Nagy. He's 11 years old and attends Amherst Primary School.

"His favourite animals are Sloths & he would love a golden retriever one day.

"He chose the GSPCA as it's for the animals and wanted to help.

"When he gets older he would like to work for British Airways as cabin crew.

"Lockdown has been challenging but he has completed all his school work and we had fun doing various activities and some nice walks for exercise.

"Kobi is Autistic and does not like change of routine so being in lockdown was tough but we got there and kept to a routine.

"Kobi painted these plaques and he was mentioned by Deputy Gavin St Pier on May 22 briefing as we sent one to the panel.

"Some plaques said, lockdown 2020, my bubble 2020, thankyou key workers, thankyou SOG, thankyou HSC & many more.

"We sold to friends and the public, he already raised £20.00 for the RNLI, £90.00 for Amherst School & £80.00 for the GSPCA."

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said, "What an amazing young man Kobi is and we cannot thank him enough for not just supporting the work of the GSPCA but also the RNLI and his School Amherst.

"During these difficult days every penny makes a huge difference and we cannot thank him enough for the amazing donation of £80.

"It is wonderful to hear how Kobi has been keeping so busy during lockdown not only with his school work but also helping local good causes.

"With over 300 animals in our care, it is incredibly busy here at the GSPCA.

"The Coronavirus Pandemic has put huge pressures on us here at the GSPCA as our shops have closed, had only emergency boarders in and nearly all of our fundraising events have had to be cancelled other than those virtual ones we have created.

"With running costs of £2000 a day raising the funds to keep the Shelter going is a daily challenge and without kind supporters like Kobi and those that donate we could carry out our around the clockwork.

"The main challenge is raising the funds as we aren’t able to run our normal events or charity shop and with only a few emergency boarders we have faced a real struggle to raise the £2,000 a day to run the Shelter so we launched our #GSPCACoronavirusCrisisAppeal .
