Clameur Du Cinéma’s next screening is Petite Maman (2021), directed by Céline Sciamma the award-winning film maker behind Portrait of a Lady on Fire (2019).
Screening at The Princess Royal Centre for Performing Arts on 5 April, the film follows Nelly, an 8-year-old girl, who has lost her beloved grandmother and is helping her parents clean out her mother’s childhood home. One day, her mom abruptly leaves, and Nelly meets a girl her age as she’s building a tree house in the woods.
Wynter Tyson, the organiser of Clameur Du Cinéma, said “After starting the year with two very big and very bold movies, it’s a real pleasure to be screening something smaller and more personal. Petite Maman is an absolute gem of a film and this is a good chance to see it with an audience.”
