The Guernsey Cardiac Action Group (GCAG) is delighted to invite you as a media representative to attend the first ever gathering of its PAD site Guardians at Les Cotils on Wednesday 7 February from 6pm.
There will be opportunities to interview some of the 200+ Guardians who maintain our PAD sites, ensure they are in good working order and, through their efforts, save lives in our local community. In the last three years at least 15 Guernsey residents have been saved by the speedy use of defibrillators that are placed around the Bailiwick. Some of those whose lives have been saved will also be at the gathering and available for interview.
GCAG is a charity dedicated to providing free resuscitation training so that the public can act to save a life safely. We also train the Guardians to maintain the lifesaving PAD equipment and report on the readiness of the equipment using an App built for this purpose. We advise on, purchase and install PADs across the Bailiwick, with over 150 PADs now being available locally to save the life of someone suffering a cardiac arrest.
During the evening the GCAG board will update the Guardians on the progress being made by the charity and Mike Froome, our Community Resuscitation Development Officer, will provide training on the maintenance of the PAD sites and on the use of the GCAG PAD site SmartApp.
We hope you will be able to join us on 7 February and report on the incredible lifesaving work of our charity.
Please reply to info@cag.org.gg or telephone 07781 129539 to let us know that you can make it.
