Local accountancy firm Cleland & Co has appointed two new directors to strengthen its leadership team and shape its future strategy.
Vicki Webster joined the firm in 2017 after spending seven years with PwC in Guernsey, New York and London and Samantha Cox has been with the firm since 2009.
Mrs Webster and Mrs Cox join Managing Director and founder Harry Dick-Cleland in the senior leadership team.
Mrs Webster is a Chartered Accountant who trained locally with PwC. She completed a secondment in New York and worked in London for two years before returning to Guernsey to join Cleland & Co.
Mrs Cox joined Cleland & Co as a school-leaver and progressed through the firm before being appointed as director this year. She is also a Chartered Accountant.
Both directors have expertise in audit, tax and accountancy services and each oversees a diverse portfolio of local owner-managed clients across all industry sectors.
“The appointments of Samantha and Vicki to director were both very natural ones as we look to the future of our business and the next stage in Cleland & Co’s growth,” said Mr Dick-Cleland.
“Both Samantha and Vicki have demonstrated their expertise and bring incredible insight, energy and quality to all of their clients. They’re a pleasure to work with.”
Both Mrs Webster and Mrs Cox are currently undertaking the Developing Leadership in Practice course run by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). The programme is designed to help practitioners develop, project and hone senior leadership qualities.
“We put great emphasis on our employees’ training and development and the ICAEW course is providing Vicki and Samantha with new ideas and strategic insights which are already shaping the future of our business,” Mr Dick-Cleland added.
“We advise our clients to have a solid succession plan in place and with these appointments we’re confident that the continued success of Cleland & Co is in safe hands.”
Cleland & Co is a Guernsey-owned, independent firm of Chartered Accountants and Registered Auditors and its staff have a collective 140 years of experience in accountancy and related fields.
