The Co-operative Society’s CI Travelmaker branch has been shortlisted in the Travel Trade Gazette (TTG) Top 50 Travel Agencies 2019 in the British Isles.
The branch has been selected as one of the top five high street agencies in the southwest region.
Travelmaker has also once again made the shortlist and top five for the Top Touring and Adventure agency in the UK, which was a new TTG category introduced last year.
The Channel Islands Co-operative Society’s Chief Marketing Officer, Carl Winn, said: "After another successful year, it’s fantastic that Travelmaker has been shortlisted in these prestigious awards once again. Our Travelmaker Guernsey colleagues have also been named as a top five agency within our region. It is a huge achievement for our Travelmaker branches to feature twice in the top five shortlist. We hope to report good news in 2019 that we have retained our ‘Best in the Southwest’ accolade."
He added: "We’re also very excited that Travelmaker has been shortlisted and made the top five for the Top Touring and Adventure agency award. It’s a credit to the hard work and dedication of my colleagues in each island who strive year on year to deliver the best service possible to our clients."
The fourth annual TTG’s Top 50 Travel Agencies awards are dedicated to recognising excellence in retailing. The awards comprise of 20 categories, highlighting standout stores in 12 different regions, plus six nation-wide categories for different kinds of agency business and UK & Ireland’s No.1 Travel Agency 2019.
The shortlisting stage was undertaken by a panel of 60 travel suppliers including airlines, tour operators, cruise lines and car hire providers, who rated hopeful agencies not just on sales volume and growth, but also according to their business performance, customer service and innovation. In the next stage of judging, a TTGjournalist will visit each shortlisted agency to carry out an assessment.
The 50 agencies that have earned a place in the Top 50 list for 2018 will be announced in a ceremony at The Vox Centre in Birmingham on 25 April 2019.
