Top tier ranking for Guernsey lawyer

Tuesday 22 October 2019

Ferbrache & Farrell’s Gavin Farrell is one of only two Guernsey lawyers to achieve a top tier ranking for corporate & finance including investment funds, in the Chambers & Partners UK Guide, 2020.

A further four of the firm’s lawyers receive individual recognition in the guide, including Managing Partner Alastair Hargreaves and consultant & notary public, Peter Ferbrache.

"It’s an honour to be recognised by a leading publication such as the Chamber & Partners UK Guide. It is particularly pleasing to see such positive feedback from our clients, and also for Gavin to retain his top tier ranking for a second year. These excellent results reflect the hard work and determination demonstrated within the firm," said Mr Hargreaves.

The highly respected legal directory ranks law firms and their lawyers based purely on client feedback. In the 2020 guide, Advocate Farrell is noted for his expertise advising on the formation and management of investment funds. "It's a pleasure to work with Gavin," said one interviewee, adding: "He has extensive experience and a good pan-European knowledge. His advice is always detailed, and he has the capacity to bring fresh ideas."

Advocate Hargreaves, who heads up the firm’s property department, acts for clients on a range of commercial and residential property matters, including acquisitions, leasing and development. He was described by one client as "a very approachable and knowledgeable property lawyer who always goes the extra mile." Another client said that he "explains the intricacies of the law in layman's terms and is an absolute breath of fresh air to deal with."

Ferbrache & Farrell was established in 2016 and consists of highly respected individuals with decades of experience and who are all recognised locally and internationally for their levels of expertise in commercial law, property law, private client and dispute resolution.

Earlier this month the firm was recognised across five practice areas in the 2020 edition of Legal 500 UK.
