Skipton staff have raised £2,000 for local cancer patients with the money split between the Guernsey Society for Cancer Relief and Les Bourgs Hospice.
The money was raised through a series of internal events at the offices in the Bordage, including a leg-wax, meat draw and raffle.
There is also a colleague tuck shop run by volunteers throughout the year, which added funds to the pot.
Peter Atkinson, Chairman of the Guernsey Society for Cancer Relief, said the charity and Bulstrode House are “very grateful to the staff at Skipton” and their funds will help support ‘cancer patients and their families”.
“At the present time there are increasing numbers who ask for help and that support is needed more than ever. So it is great to receive a sizeable donation from Skipton which helps us to continue to help others.”
Skipton’s Managing Director, Jim Coupe, added: “Skipton is well known locally for its community support through sponsorships and the Skipton Community Fund, but this initiative was something entirely down to my colleagues, who devised, organised and continue to volunteer in order to support even more charities locally.
“I am delighted that two Guernsey cancer charities have received this support to aid them in their vital work.”
